Why Digiter exists

Digiter ry is a Finnish nonprofit association. We develop digital services around people’s needs — rather than organisations’ assumptions.

Our starting point is simple: digitalisation should make everyday life easier. Yet many people encounter situations where a form stops them, a system confuses them or their own skills seem insufficient. These are precisely the moments Digiter’s work addresses.

For these situations, we are also developing Digiter’s Lomaketulkki, which helps people understand what forms actually ask and how to answer, even when the language is unfamiliar or not their own. Explore Lomaketulkki →

We build and test new digital solutions — practical experiments, prototypes and pilots. One example is the digital service needs assessment on this website, which helps users identify situations where digital services could really help. At the same time, we gain insight into needs that remain unresolved.

We also develop approaches to the controlled modernisation of legacy systems, such as the Gentle Exit model, where the transition from old to new happens gradually without risking current operations.

We also participate in projects as a partner. We actively monitor emerging funding and project opportunities and assess where Digiter’s expertise can add value. View open projects →
